Common Risks Associated with Unsafe Sex

I know the story, you were so drunk on Friday night and you were around so many hot guys at a bar that you couldn’t care less if the one you’d choose to hook up with has a condom in his wallet or not. You’re so health conscious except when you’re horny and intoxicated. And while you’re having sex with a stranger you just cross your fingers and hope that he doesn’t give you anything else other than pleasure, and I mean STD…

Unprotected sex has so many risks especially for those who do not practice monogamy, and this means countless diseases including HIV (human immuno virus) which causes AIDS, and HPV (human papilloma virus) which could cause cervical cancer in women. And just because you don’t go all the way sometimes, it doesn’t mean you’re spared from the dangers. Here are the common risks which serve as reasons why safe sex is very important.

Penile-vaginal intercourse

The typical intercourse poses danger because of genital contact and the exchange of fluids. If at least one partner has HIV for example like the male, he is sure to pass the disease through his semen and the fluid often called pre-cum that usually comes out even when has just started thrusting. If the woman has the disease, her vaginal discharges like mucus or blood in contact with the penis are also the carriers of virus.

Oral-penile intercourse

Many resorts to oral sex thinking it’s safer than other forms of intercourse. It’s actually just as risky. If a man has herpes for example (genital sores) syphilis which is also skin sores, then the woman who sucks his penis and comes in contact with either his semen or the pre-ejaculatory fluid could contract the sores in her mouth. The same could happen if the man has HIV.

Oral-vaginal intercourse

A woman’s vagina is often very wet and full of fluids and discharges as these are her natural lubricant during sex. If a woman has genital sores she could also pass this to the man who licks or sucks her vagina.

Penile-rectal intercourse

If a man has HIV he can easily pass this to the anus again through his pre-cum or semen. And if the woman has HIV too she can transmit the disease through rectal fluid or blood. Even annilingus (licking or eating the anus) could cause STD transmission from the anal fluids to the mouth of the one who is licking the anus.
